Who Are You Living For

While growing up, Alice had great dreams with an intimidating zeal and strength enough to accomplish them all and more. But along the line of growing up, though she still believed in her dreams and wanted it to be a reality, she unwittingly and gradually starts derailing by questioning the possible reality and effects of the dreams and because she had no one who believed in her or had interest in what ever she wanted for herself, she unconsciously set out on the path
that everyone close to her wanted and choose for her, and because it wasn't her thing, she gets stuck in the middle with no help or assistance from anyone to make that next step and painfully with no clear direction. She is stuck at a spot (a spot dangerous for her and everyone around her) for life.

No means of moving forward, and moving backwards is painfully out of her options because she has gone so far in life that a look at her past, at her dreams gives her the shivers. She knows she would have had a smooth ride with her dreams and would have been happy had she listened to the voices in her dreams and run away to pursue her dreams but that thought is forbidden now because she feels its too late to go back and start all over again. But how long is she willing to hold herself down, stuck at that spot and not break down?

In life, we make so many choices in our quest to live well and succeed. Most times our decisions and acts are influenced by unseen hands and dictates of society and people around us and this makes most of us forget what it actually means to live for oneself and be happy. Jeff Bezos saying "In the end, we are our choices. Build yourself a great story." is a perfect example relating to Alice's life.

She made those choices to please someone or some people and unfortunately got stuck at a very bad place with all those people not even within sight to lend a hand. Her story would have been great, but did she make the right choices? Lets hope this doesn't become her end and that she summons the strength to retrace her steps and put a start to something new and entirely hers. Because even if she fails at the end, the choices are hers and the story entirely hers.

What choice are you making today, are they entirely yours or are you unconsciously living to please someone other than yourself? Make a choice and decision that is entirely all yours today because in the end, you will be the only standing at the edge of the road when the lights are off.
